UI/UX Designer

This flexible productivity web app is designed to support neurodivergent users by challenging the rigid structures of traditional tools.

It features an adaptable interface that provides a foundational framework but uses AI and machine learning to further tailor the experience to individual needs.

By accommodating nonlinear thinking and reducing cognitive load, the app empowers users to manage tasks in ways that align with how they naturally process information—promoting both productivity and well-being.

Defining the Problem

Users whose feedback are not adequately represented often include individuals with ADHD, autism, and dyslexia. Through article research we found that these demographics struggle with time management, organization skills, and task motivation

  • Rigid Structures

    • Linear to-do lists and calendar-based planners do not support nonlinear time perception

  • Task Breakdowns

    • Many users struggle with breaking large tasks into manageable steps.

  • Difficulty Prioritizing

    • Traditional tools often require the ability to assess priority levels and work according to those levels, which can be challenging for individuals with executive dysfunction.

  • Lack of Visual Representation

    • Many neurodivergent individuals think visually and associatively, but existing tools fail to support this way of thinking.

Reflection

Working on this project deepened my understanding of inclusive design and challenged me to move beyond conventional UX patterns, unlearning assumptions, and prioritizing flexibility, personalization, and cognitive accessibility.

Integrating AI into the interface added another layer of complexity, allowing us to imagine how technology could dynamically respond to a user’s mood, energy levels, or habits, instead of forcing them to conform to fixed systems. I came away from this project more committed to building digital spaces that adapt to people, not the other way around.
